Harry L. Powell, Senior Legal Analyst |
Civil, Business, and Estate Litigation
Mr. Powell is a member of the firm’s litigation team, working closely with Mr. Jassim. He has successfully assisted in the representation of clients in the areas of general civil litigation, trust and estate litigation, business litigation, professional negligence, employment and labor law, administrative law and proceedings, commercial and residential landlord/tenant disputes, construction litigation, real estate litigation and transactions, family law, and personal injury.
Prior to joining Preovolos & Associates, Mr. Powell worked at Dougherty, Hildre, Dudek, and Haklar, where he was involved in mass tort and class action cases including tobacco litigation, breast implant, L-Tryptophane, Phen-Fen and other product liability injury cases as well as the firm’s Admiralty and maritime injury cases.
Mr. Powell also worked for the Law Offices of James Parziale in their Personal Injury Department where he was involved in Admiralty and marine injuries, product and premises liability, and vehicle collision injuries. Before entering the legal field, Mr. Powell worked in the marine industry as a shipyard and yacht yard manager, and an America’s Cup operations manager.
Mr. Powell earned his Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He received a certificate in International Law and recognition for representing the school in both Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. He also has a formal education in graphic arts. He continues his legal education by attending seminars, workshops and classes on a regular basis.
Mr. Powell is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, maintaining membership in the Civil Litigation section.
Mr. Powell enjoys life with his fiancé and their three sons. They are avid racing sailors, having raced throughout the world. Other interests and activities include skiing and the arts. |
